These are the books that I couldn't muddle through, even though I wanted to. I tried very hard to finish them but I finally gave up.

Unfortunately, a few books on here are classic literature. Maybe that says something about where the future of literature is headed.
These lists all end up the same in some ways as there are books on here I like and we all dislike different books.

For me they were so bad I didn't even start them! (kidding!! just not my thing, really, so I won't even bother.)

I think I got halfway through "Twilight" and felt (IMO) that not much had REALLY happened. It just wasn't my thing. Also, I'm not into the whole vampire phase/fad that everyone seems to be into, so I knew what I was getting into. I tried, it didn't work for me.People have different tastes.
I think if you'll check out the best and worst lists, you'll find quite a few identical names. Coincidence? Also, a lot of these books I've either read, or heard they were good... Perchance expectations ruined it? These don't really reflect the WORST books, but the worst POPULAR books.
Hi Snickers, I don't know...I used to be almost obsessive about finishing books once I'd started them. I suspect some of it may be a function of age. As I got older I realized my "reading time" was limited and became more willing to throw a book across the room after a certain point (and I can name several books and even one series I finished that I wish I had "flung").Oh well...I wish for you mostly good books that don't "trap you". :)

Why the hell is Jane Eyre and Breaking Dawn on this list? The Host suits it
No.....it wasn't. If so then you have a pathetic taste in books. Twilight was actually very good.
I like list like this one because it shows everyone's opinion on books; like I rated 2 books on the list 5 stars but I totally understand why others might not have liked them. And I forced myself to finish most books just because I already wasted my time on the beginning I figured I might as well finish; and a few I might have been close to tears they were so bad.
Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Dune, The Lord of the Flies, The Book Thief? What??!! Er, The Diary of Anne Frank? - are you kidding me, it's a diary for crying out loud and most definitely shouldn't be on this list. I voted for 'Wicked' and 'The Almost Moon'.

It is a very sad book.
Wow, I couldn't believe people could actually NOT like Memoirs of a Geisha. It's the BEST historical fiction novel ever written in my opinion. People were writing Arthur Golden and asking him is Sayuri was a real girl it was so well done!
Seeing that Diary of A Wimpy Kid is on this list is just dumb. It's a kids series for goodness sakes.
