Chick lit features hip, stylish, career-driven female protagonists, usually in their twenties and thirties. The plot generally follows their love lives and struggles for professional success, written in an airy, irreverent tone.

Is there a way to fallow this list?
I love books like this that are girly and have awesome covers but I never jugue a book by its cover it just so happens though that the books with the awesome covers are the one I like to read. I can't stand books that are oldies like the books before my grandparents were alive! I like the newer type for they have things that I know about. I hate it when a book keep talking about thing that I don't know about it just makes me feel so dumb for I AM in the sixth grade and have a fourthteen reading grade level and I skiped pre-k and kitergranden!
I love the list but I think perfect chemistry and Two way strret should be on here. Those are my two favoritest books ever!!!!!
I added "Agnes and the Hitman" to this list because I could definitely say that it is chick-lit without a doubt in my mind. It's a very nice book if someone wants something a little different than the usual light romantic read.I am surprised by how most of this list contains books that aren't necessarily chick-lit at all. Classics, yes. Romances, yes. But not what I'd call chick-lit.
Edit: And why the devil is Twilight on this list? It's NOT chick-lit, lol!
pride and prejudice is maybe the ORIGINAL chick lit! just an older style.but agreed, twilight has no place here!
Wow I am a little surprised to not see the Help a little further up on the list. It is a little different than most Chick lit genre books, but I think it still qualifies and is FANTASTIC!
Jane Eyre - a chicklit?! Are you insane? How could you! JE is a classic hfromancegothis, NOT a chick lit! Not every book in the world about women is chicklit!
There's this book about a girl who ends up being a pretty famous celebrity and it's called something like "Everybody who's anybody"can somebody tell me if they know the exact name of the book?
The cover has a the back of a girl sitting on a ledge, and you can see her pink thong through her jeans.

Everyone Worth Knowing by Jennifer Weisberger (same author as The Devil Wears Prada)?? I dunno about the cover, but does that sound right? Her other books are really good too!!
There's a book that I've been searching for a while, all I remember about it is that it has a skateboard and a black boot standing on it, with a neon green background. It was a part of a series about a girl who was fighting with another girl? I think the love intrests name started with an M. If anyone has any clue what I'm talking about, letting me know would be greatly appreciated.
Normally I would tell you that you add books to the list at the top of the list (at the tab next to "all votes"), Neil, but I believe authors are no longer allowed to add their own books to Listopias.
I am trying to find a book that was once on this list. It was published in 2004 I believe. It was about a young wife who daydreamed about killing her husband, lighthearted considering the topic. It was a first time novel, came out around the same time the novel Good Grief did. It is not the book by Kathy Lette. The author was married to a well known author who was much older and was dying of cancer. He was thrilled with her acclaim of this novel and joked about the topic about killing her husband in an interview. After he died she was working on another book but overcome with grief she committed suicide. Does this ring any bells with anyone?
Gracie's wrote: "I am trying to find a book that was once on this list...."If it was once on this list but isn't anymore now, a librarian has removed it. Librarians let others know which titles they've removed... They should, anyway.
Susanna - Censored by GoodReads wrote: "Might have been voted on only by a departed member? (I believe that also removes votes?)"Ah, that might be a possibility.
Thank you, it was several years ago, so that could be a very likely possibility. I was always intrigued and of course saddened by the author's passing. There was a except of the book she was working on and was very good. In her suicide note she said she hoped someone would finish it, but don't know how far along it was.
Remembering what I read or at least my reaction to it I don't know how someone could have done it. It was extraordinary.
7 duplicates found and removedRemoved following books from page 9 (NOT chick-lit but THRILLER). This fact says nothing about the quality of these books only states they don't fit the list parameters:
Mystic River
Hold Tight
Caught
Deal Breaker
Just One Look
Gone for Good
Not removed, but think these don't belong on this list:
Return family drama (Christian/Inspirational)
Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility classic
The Lake House, The Storyteller historical fiction
Murder Past Due, Classified as Murder cozy-mysteries
I'll look closer at this list at another time, when I can give it more attention
