By the gods. Paranormal really needs to be its own category. That way their volumes won't keep polluting all the other fantasy polls.
Even if you go by 2 to the power n when 2= a star, that would make 3-starts the 87.5 percentile; and usually these are more liner, with approximately as many being willing to underrate as overrate and to not overrate as to not underrate; but even at 87.5 that would mean out of every 8 books there would be one out there and there couldn't have been more than 115 fantasy books done, when in fact there were 1000's.
Now I realize that some editor might have different standards than the general public: saleability, fitting within certain defined niches, and that the ppl who come to your cite don't necessarily represent such groups and that there are at least dozen of niches and only 8-voters; but that would only point out a flaw in your voting system, and when a place makes small mistakes systematic mistakes they make, large systematic mistakes as well.
