Books in which either you had not heard of prior to being made into a movie, or that you would not have considered reading, but the movie was so good it made you want to read the book.

Sometimes, the movies aren't that good, but you later find out there is a book it's based on, and for a discerning viewer the concept looks like it could have been a much better story, and it's likely that is so in the original source.
Other times the movies are simply outstanding, and the book still is better. And others, rare occasions, the book is a horrible let down.

I had all three happen to me some time or another. The fourth instance is where the movie is not good, and then you read the book and it's worse. Double the wasted time. Sucks.

It's probably inviting boos, but Blood and Chocolate. Movie was pop-corn tolerable, book was... icky. And teenage angst.

I hated it. But I loved the book. It was more unique and different than most other YA werewolf books and I liked that the ending wasn't stupid and clique like I thought it was going to be. But the movie, wow. It's maybe the worst movie adaption I've ever seen. They even change who she ends up with! That's stupid.
Lol, yeah, nothing alike at all. And most people love the book. I just couldn't connect I guess. And the guy had slept with her mother.

For me it's the other way around if I know that a movie is the adaptation of a book I rush to read the book first because I know the movie is going to ruin it usually. The movie gives around 20% of the book. To many edits.

I probably did that's why I said "IF" I know that a movie is the adaptation.....If I find out after I'll still read the bookThere had been several times when a movie came out and I put off watching it for a week or so just so I can read the book first.
