I was truly drawn to the powerful and deeply human portrayal of war in Brave Deeds. The journey of six AWOL soldiers crossing war-torn Baghdad, combined with the novel’s dark humor, brotherhood, personal struggles, and questions of identity, creates a compelling and emotionally resonant story that really stood out to me.
