I've only read one Q author as well, but considering I've read twenty of her books I kind of missed that Q was a hard letter ;)

Yeah, but there aren't really all that many authors starting with Q on that list since it's for both titles, authors and main characters.

What's the name of 'your' author? I voted for Raymond Queneau, as he's the only author on my shelves who has a surname starting with 'Q'. I only have one of his books though (Hondsgras, of Het gelazer).

I read a lot of romance and I'vre read almost all of Julia Quinn's books. Love the first books in the Bridgerton series.

Thanks! :-) Turns out I even have seven books instead of four; three by Raymond Queneau, one by Rexhep Qosja and three by Eça de Queirós. And none of these were on the list yet ;-)

'X' for me is a lot harder than 'Q', as it turns out, because I only found three books by authors whose surname starts with 'X'. Ah well, at least I made some progress in the past two years :-)

"Q" is quite easy for me since I like romance and there are a lot of romance authors that whose last name begins with "Q" :)

"X" is probably the hardest letter for me, and when I created the list I hadn't read a single one. At least now, after reading one of Xenophon's, I've read one ;)

Hopefully, on the Q list, you have Matthew Quick's The Silver Linings Playbook, surprisingly good.

Found a few a while ago (see my earlier message), Xenophon for instance :-) I've also voted for a Chinese author already on the list (Gao Xingjian), although I'm not altogether sure it is the surname that starts with an X, might be a first name that's just put last, as is common in China.

Yes, 'Gao' is the family name. His father was Gao Yuntong. Despite my best efforts, I made a similar mistake a few years ago with Lu Xun. :)

For Qiu Xiaolong, Xiaolong is actually his first name, not his last/family name. I wouldn't be surprised if that's also the case for some other Chinese names on this list!

Rule of thumb for figuring out which is the surname in Chinese names: if it has two syllables it's the first name. For Lu Xun, Lu is the surname.
