To qualify for this particular list, a book must have:

1. A woman main character / protagonist. Not a teenager, not a child, an adult woman. Not just as a member of an ensemble cast, unless she's the sole POV character. Not a space ship, not a robot unless this is a world where there are lots of robots and she's not the only robot character, not a dragon unless she can take human form, etc. Adult humanoid woman. Humanoid magical creatures, such as a woman vampire, faerie, orc, etc. are acceptable. No misgendering of nonbinary characters who would not identify as women.

2. Second-world. This means: not set on Earth. Could be another planet, dimension, magical realm, veil, outer space, etc. just not here. No urban fantasy unless it's not set on Earth.

3. Not a romance. This means: no romance novels, teen paranormal romance, or romantasy. No stories with a major romantic plotline i.e. "she has to go do this interesting thing, but wait, she has to do it with this ex/rival/enemy/hot person and will-they-or-won't-they (they will)" or anything like that. The book doesn't have to be 100% romance-free, but basically anything should be minor enough that it wouldn't be mentioned on a back cover description. This also means: no forced marriage, arranged marriage, or plot focused around marriage / romantic soulmates / mating etc. The plot can focus on anything else other than romance: adventure, heist, politics, murder mystery, quest, etc.

Bonus: ideally stories not focused on reproduction. This list is for stories about women who get to be adult people having adventures centered on her own personhood without being reduced to being incubators.
