yes, the timeline is right, but the order in which the books come out, I feel, is a way better way to read this series. Remember that Card wrote these prequels in full knowledge that folks have read his previous works and that lends to the writing and reading interpretation. I have always found (for all epic series/world building) that it makes much more sense to read the in books in order of release.
