Antoine I can't believe that anyone who hates so many series would have slogged through all the intallments anyway.

If you have a book in hand sometimes you just have to read it. "

i have a friend who insisted i read all of the eragon books, he thought i would like the next one if i just held out... i gave him the benefit of the doubt big mistake.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Life is too short to read boring annoying books. (when there are so many good ones)

message 5: by Phoenix81 (new)

Phoenix81 I believe everyone is different thus this means our interest also differs. Some books are really special to certain people but to others, it just sucks. therefore, we shoud just read what we enjoy reading despite what other says about it.

message 6: by Megan (new)

Megan I didn't really like New Moon because in that book there was no storyline because edward left.

message 7: by Michele (new)

Michele Milliner Voting on these lists is both gratifying and infuriating.

message 8: by Molly (new)

Molly The Secret History

I don't actually hate this book. I've read it twice (once when it was new; once many years later). I just never thought it lived up to the hype it got.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads The form to add books to the list is over at the right-hand side of the page.

message 10: by Anita (new)

Anita Damn.

Somebody REALLY HATES Lemony Snicket...I think it's personal.

message 11: by Ashley (new)

Ashley =\ you're missin out.

message 12: by Marissa (new)

Marissa I'm hoping some of the books were added because that's A LOT of books to hate. There's some there I'm not fond of, but I dont necessarily hate them and there are a lot of them there I LOVE. I'm wondering how someone could hate all of these? And if so, what kinds of books do they enjoy then? Cause it seems it leaves very few. The Little Prince is a fantastic albeit strange book. Memoirs of a Geisha is striking and amazing, and so much better than the movie. And I'm a die-hard Harry Potter lover as it's what got me started to read chapter books when I was 9. How could you hate Harry? As for Twilight...totally get it. I've read them though...twice, so not gonna say I hate them. I just hate the horrible writing and the crazed fans who cant tell good writing or acting from bad and who think that this "romance" story is amazing and dont realize how it's brainwashing young teens. But that rants old.

message 13: by Marissa (new)

Marissa Megan wrote: "I didn't really like New Moon because in that book there was no storyline because edward left."

That's your only reason?

message 14: by Danna (new)

Danna How could you hate Twilight??
Easily. It's awful!!!

Danna Marissa wrote: "Megan wrote: "I didn't really like New Moon because in that book there was no storyline because edward left."

Appearantly. And, yes, I think she's right. Besides a wierd storyline, bad writing and stupidity of the characters, I mean, the vampire (human killer) is kinda zombie, and it is NOT hot! How could it be, anyway? Besides, Bella's an idiot. So stupid...

message 16: by Shyanne (new)

Shyanne I can't believe Harry Potter is on this list. It would be one thing if you just couldn't get into it, but to go so far as to say you hated it? Those books are amazing and 50 years from now will still be considered classics. They don't deserve to be in the same list featuring Twilight books.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Well, there are nearly 500 people voting.

message 18: by hugsandcookies (new)

hugsandcookies I like this Listopia.

I agree! I was amazed to see that 3 people hate Jane Eyre! That is so baffling!

message 20: by Anita (last edited Jan 31, 2019 04:11PM) (new)

Anita 1. He was married! He had a whole damn WIFE hidden away in the attic. He. Was. MARRIED.

2. He had (at the time) a deadly disease. That his wife was up in the attic DYING FROM. He HAD IT TOO. he was *this* far away from the same messy end as his wife.

But still gonna marry (and infect) another innocent person? REALLY? That was okay with you guys?????

HOW IS THIS ROMANTIC??????

That always bothered me that he had his wife locked up in the attic. What disease did she have? Wide Sargasso Sea explained some of this. I never liked him one bit but I do like Jane. She was just very naive.

message 22: by ~☆~Autumn (new)

~☆~Autumn Its sure NOT romantic (Jane Eyre) but then when I was a dumb teenager someone told me that Wuthering Heights was romantic and I sure believed it. DUH me!

message 23: by Anita (new)

Anita He (well THEY) had Syphilis. At that time, there was no cure. That was the cause of the insanity in his wife. The Syphilis was eating away at her brain. He had it too, and once he married (and bedded) Jane? SHE had it too, cutting her life short.

Again, HOW IS THIS ROMANTIC???

And wuthering heights - while well-written, was deeply depressing. Wasted his whole life on revenge...stupid stupid stupid...

I don't think they had syphilis. Wide Sargasso Sea When I read Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys she showed many reasons why his first wife got mentally ill but mainly I could see that she was moved from a warm, colorful climate to a cold, dark place. That depresses me too! I could not stand the early dark in the UK in October. If I remember right there was also insanity in her family. I read a few books about Jean Rhys after reading it and they were fascinating.

I sure agree with you about Wuthering Heights. Still those books were amazing for the time they were written.

First, you sound suspiciously like a time traveler.
Second, J.K. Rowling falling off the deep end makes people like me less inclined to support Henry Porker.

message 26: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey Gao Also, I’m shocked so few hate The Fall of Western Humanity(I’m not going the route of Collett and using Man to represent humans) Mark Collett is such a perfidious, snooty, bigot.

message 27: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey Gao Give me at least fifty more one star ratings for The Fall of Western Man! Silence White supremacists!
