It's interesting how almost all the books on this list have dark, haunting covers.

I am surprised how simple some of the good ones are, the ones lower on the list are too busy I guess
i actually ended u p picking up a book that is now my all time favorite (cry wolf by Briggs, its on this list) by thinking the cover looked interesting =)
lol me too. i have such a huge kist of books i gotta get my hands on. Cry wolf is about werewolves, there is a sister series (some of the same charaters) by the same author its the mercy thompson series. you can read one withouth the other, but i love them both, and they sort of follow eacher on a time line and share the same charaters, but thats pretty much all that they have in common
hmmm... alternatively, if a book sucks and it also has an awful cover, it could be on this list according to the name "judge a book by its cover"
Nickbobed wrote: "I think Fallen has one of the coolest covers, the cover is actually what drew me in to read it."Same for me. I bought it cause of the cover. To bad the book wasn't as good as I was hoping for, but it was still a good read.
is it just me, or is it always that the WORST books have the BEST cover!?!? take fallen for an example.......
Fallen I thought was okay, after you et into it. The second one was good. My favorite guy characters are Jace and Patch. So I like that they are up there. Most of these I have read and a lot of them I liked.
I hated the Hollow cover. I read the book and it was amazing , but I pictured abbey to be more Beautiful and without all this make-up which by the way looks scary.

The cover ruined my impression of her. Thank goodness i downloaded the book and didnt see the cover first.
The story line draws me in, The cover is the next thing i look at. If it has eye-appeal then maybe it will be a good read. Though this theory does not always work.

I think it's funny that the top 10 books on this list are all written badly, with terrible romance and spineless heroines. In fact, on further inspection, it seems like most of this list (with the exception of a few) is a bunch of terrible books. Maybe that's why they're on this list: because they looked better than they actually were.
well said Xela, but i reckon quite a few of these books are good reads. for example hush hush was one of my faves till i discovered tiger's curse by colleen houck. but twilight has a horrible cover and a weird and not so good story to match
Honestly, Hush, Hush was great, but when I read it a second time, it totally flattened my high expectations. I don't know why, but I just ... I dunno. It wasn't as interesting. And though the Tiger's Curse has a splendid and beautiful cover, I found the book boring.
I suppose what's in the book is just a matter of opinion, but I think our views will not be so diverse on talking about the beauty of the covers. :)
yeah, covers on books are pretty much the yes or no to should i or shouldn't i. but a lot of book that i have read, are horrible covers, but then the story itself was amazing, and vice versa. it all really depends on what u like to read
They say we should'nt judge books by their covers, but thats what most of us do anyway, because covers are made to pique the interest of potential readers
Exactly. (: Covers are supposed to eye-catching for me if I want to pick up the book. And if the story's good, it goes in my to-read list!
Love this cover. The old truck, barn animals, and hot woman is right on with the Witches, Bitches, and Good Ol' Boys title.

Though I'd consider myself a fan, I always thought that the covers to the Mortal Instruments were really ugly. I like the Infernal Devices but I would have never picked up City of Bones if I hadn't read reviews beforehand. I think that the paperback cover for Ash (Malinda Lo) is a lot cooler looking.
And I've always loved the covers of Shiver.
Also this is probably the only time I will ever vote for twilight. And fallen and Hush Hush. Such pretty covers for such horrible books.
