Resisting the threat of persecution, China's brave yet few rebel authors have dared to put between two covers their stories of non-conformity, deviance or drug use. The Chinese government's response is to ban these books, yet, proving Communists still have much to learn about market-driven economics, such attention only helps fuel international publicity, resulting in millions of sales for a book that might have otherwise been tossed into the gutters of Sanlitun.
