Even though I voted for it, as it was already on this list, I'm not sure I Never Promised You a Rose Garden is a memoir?

Maybe not...but it was my earliest introduction to the genre on insanity. I can't remember is it was fiction or memoir.

Personally, I thought it was fiction, not a memoir.

a rose garden. It is listed as fiction
by a lot of people but it is not fiction.
It says in the introduction that it is
a fictionalized autobiography.

I saw an actual interview with the
author in a documentary many years
later and she was indeed in a mental
hospital when she was younger.

It is non fiction. It is not fiction.
