You just couldn't finish it for whatever reason, and you don't plan to finish it any time soon. Only the first book in each series.

It was cringe worthy.
It was cringe worthy.
House of Night has gotten pretty bad of late. The first, say, three were decent, but it ran out of steam pretty quickly. The last one was terrible.
I gave up on Evermore because it was terrible and very similar to Twilight only worse. I also gave up on Fragile Eternity. I read the first two, but the third was just boring. I didn't even really care what happened.
I honestly don't even remember what Fragile Eternity was about. I remeber the basic plot of all the others, but that one escapes me...And Evermore...well, it just doesn't seem like Ever's going to get any smarter.
The person who made this list doesn't have a brain.Because most of this book I have read and I have finished them without any problem. I'm surprised that Thirst is not here because I couldn't passed the first chapter. And Vampire Academy should not be here because people LOVE theses books. This list is very depressing.
Well, you could vote for the books you think belong on it. Up at the top. Anyone can vote on these lists. It looks like over 200 people have voted on this one.
Wow, I was reading through this list and thinking, I agree with almost everything on this list! especially the House of Night. I was surprised by Tomorrow When The War Began, but it was only one person that voted for it, so I suppose that i can accept that there is one person that didn't love and adore that series :P

i totally agree .
Evermore- Ever just got dumber and dumberHouse of Night- The first one made me mildly cringe, and I tried to read the second but I completely questioned the main character so I quit a few chapters
Uglies- This one didn't have strong enough writing and the direction of where the character was going made me quit
Wicked Lovely- The first was alright, but the second lost focus of the main character, and her story.
Mortal Instruments- I can understand why people voted for this even thought I like this series. If the reader persisted enough to read the third one they would appreciate more. Also Simon was becoming annoying.
I agree. Some of these books are actually really good. But like other people also said, there are some disappointment up there.
Some of these series I really liked.1. Harry Potter
Some were ok.
1. Uglies
Lots started great but failed/I lost interest as they went on.
1. The Vampire Academy
2. Hunger Games (1st was AMAZING)
3. House of Night (Kind of, I liked them as a really light reading after I finished uninteresting school books. But they got so bad.)
4. Gemma Doyle (LOVED the first one)
And others were horrible.
1. Evermore
2. Trublood
3. Twilight

Wow Im surprised you didnt like vampire academy. Its a really good book it gives you a pretty damn good idea of the scenario,i think the dialog is great, I mean its a perfect series to read.

Harry Potter?! Twilight?! Give 'em a chance, people!Found by Margagret Peterson Haddix was very good and intriguing, but Sent was awful! 15th century England wasn't the most entertaining setting for a novel.
I didn't see the City of Ember on this list, which surprised me. I read it and the next book, The People of Sparks, hoping things would get better...they didn't.
i agree with some of this but there are a lot of good books on this list that you should really give a chance. it almost seems like everything is on this list because it's pretty big. did you actually finish any of these books?

i agree with almost all of this but i liked the Vampire Academy.
every single book on this list is that almostfantasy sub-genre! All vampires and demons and witches and who-knows-what. What do they call those? Paranormal romance? i can only stomach one series like that, and i haven't even read the second one.

Totally. I didn't even make it that far, I'll admit. I got to Chosen and was like, "Wait...why am I reading this ____?"
Devina wrote: "Harry Potter shouldn't have been here!I loved every one the HP books!"I know, right?????? :O
People clearly have no imagination. Some I understand, others I do not.Harry Potter? Really? No. I mean it. Really? Why do people hate Harry Potter?
The Mortal Instruments are an obsession for me. I LOVE THOSE BOOKS. Enough to possibly want a rune tattoo.
Shiver, and its whole trilogy, is fantastic and original! Maggie Stiefvater's style is unique and lovely.
I like the Wicked Lovely books. Sure, I have to battle through the pages sometimes, but they are worth it.
I gave up looking through this because I disagree with many. Though I do agree on quite a few (-cough, Twilight and Fallen, cough-)
wow. I just went back through this listand of the top 99, i voted for 30. i didn't realize that there were so many bad series out there that I just had enough of and couldn't continue with.it would be interesting to note how far people got with each series. for example, I gave up Fallen after the first book, but for some reason, I went through at least five House Of Night books before I came to my senses and realized that it wasn't getting any better.

lol I made it to about the fourth book, maybe, and thought the same exact thing. "why am I reading this?"
I added Lover Eternal, from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I just can't finish it. Though I love the Brotherhood Boys, I can't stand that the author loses focus of the story and delves off into her own wonderland while I'm going, "WTF just happened?"
Wow, I am really not a consatant reader. I have given up some serieses. But trust me, it all has a reason. Some, espically the ones who belong to the current YA-PNR age of juicy, stupid, annoying, bad written, slow moving, worst heroines/heros books - I just could not keep up. And now I am just looking for the one ya paranormal (no romance, as much as I'd find) that could be considered good!
Is it really the books fault if you can't stick out long books? I agree with Lucia about the Hunger Games and Harry Potter, also I loved the Mortal Instruments. Some may be a little long but they are amazing. Whatever everybody has their own oppinions...
Harry Potter! are u kidding me!!! J.K Rowling is a amazing writer and my life has been completely different since reading Harry Potter! shame on u :(
When I started reading A bite too remember a couldn't put it down it was a Gr8 book and i can't wait too read the next book in the series!
can i just ask, why is The Host by Stephanie Meyer up there? There's only one book
After book six of te Pendragon series I quit. I tried reading #7 and I was bored as hell, plus I hated how Pendragon was so "I'm the good guy and Saint Dane is the bad guy." Who cares if he destroyed all these worlds? They were a lost cause anyways, and you actually f*cked many times to help it accelerate in the process, Bobby. Plus, 6 was as good as it was ever going to get.
i think it funny that there a theme that most of the book and really popular vampire and place in the future with distopiea(sp) settings and lot of the books I've read and have no trouble reading them at all and nether did my grandma the only one i agree with is wicked cause that book switch between so many people it not even worth reading. maybe people who are say there bad books should read books that aren't right for you duh
You sir/ma'am has bad taste. I can see Twilight or Evemore and the others I didn't like, but seriously, Harry Potter! Hunger Games! Mortal Instruments, really?!
I almost feel bad for voting Blue is for Nightmares on this list but when the last book was published as a graphic novel when there had been no graphic novel publications for the others I knew it was time to leave the series behind. I just don't have faith in the author to continue the story in the way it deserves.
