The Man Booker Prize for Fiction is a literary prize awarded each year for the best original full-length novel, written in the English language, and published it the UK. It promotes the finest in fiction by rewarding the very best book of the year. The prize is the world's most important literary award and has the power to transform the fortunes of authors and publishers.

Hey, thanks for the invite, Bettie. I always find the Man Booker books a bit hit-or-miss for me. I've marked Siri Hustvedt as a want-to-read from this year's list. About to trawl thru Man Booker lists.

You're welcome; somebody usually gets around to it but I just happened to be at a loose end this morning. Admittedly, I usually find the [Man] Booker a little underwhelming

Interestingly, some of the media coverage has commented that even with a wider field this year the selection seems somewhat narrower.
