Darkpool Not sure why "Lucky Man" is on this list. Michael J Fox doesn't have cancer, he has Parkinson's. It is an excellent book tho.

Loren Backus Strikes Back is also about Parkinson's- I put them on the list because they are about treating serious illness with humor- maybe the list should be called Funny Books About Illness, but that isn't as catchy!

Then may I add Don't Kill the Birthday Girl as she treats severe food allergy with great humor which I find amazing?

I will delete it if you don't want it here.

Please do post! I'm sure there have been many great books since this list started!

S.L. Wisenberg Hi--Would you consider adding to the list? The U of Iowa Press published my "The Adventures of Cancer Bitch," to good reviews: "Wisenberg brings her serious writing chops to bear in unflinching observations on breast cancer, cancer research, and teaching." --Library Journal

"virtuosic...poignant"--Kyle Minor, Salon
"The Adventures of Cancer Bitch is funny, touching, sad, uplifting and informative - all at the same time."--Chicago Tribune

"Best book for someone who likes the idea of the Oprah Book Club but thinks they're too cool"--Time Out Chicago

"deeply personal, often darkly funny"–Kirkus Reviews

"(An) incredible book.... Wisenberg is acerbic, unsettling, truthful, and often hilarious." --Rain Taxi
