If this is a 20-book list, why are there 21 books on it?

"The Children of the Maize" is not supposed to be on this list. It was added by another person, Arnulfo, who is the author of that particular book. Unfortunately, anyone could add to this list. My purpose in creating the list was to make it easy for Illinois school librarians to add the titles to their "want to read" list on Goodreads. (I am unaware of any way I can remove the title. Sorry.)

I always thought this would be a great forum for teens to sound off without feeling intimidated by turning their opinions in to a committee. Or for those who have only gotten through one or two of the titles but still would like to have their voices heard. I hope your list has a better turn out than mine from last year. :) I'm also hoping to get through more of the list myself!
