This list is only for those books involving some sort of agreement between the MCs in which their sexual involvement results in a baby. Usually, the couple intend to go their separate ways after the deed is done (e.g., baby is condition to consenting to divorce) but of course, feelings change along the way :)

Although not limited to a specific genre, this plot device/trope is more common in historical romance. Most storylines employ one of the following:

(1) An estranged couple getting back together for the purpose of begetting an heir. This turns into a reunion/second chance romance.

(2) An MC either hears his/her biological clock ticking or must have a baby within a certain timeframe for some reason (e.g., inheritance).
