A list for those timeworn books that seem to be on a pedestal ... but why?? They just don't live up to their reputations.

Alexis Estrada Don Quijote is the spanish languaje masterpiece. It is beautifull because of the languaje use. Obviously, it's a very stupid thing to read it in other languaje and trying to get the beauty of the text. It's like reading Shakespeare on japanese and saying it is overrated. I'm a spanish speaker and it is my favourite book. When you read Don Quijote, You feel like he's your best friend, you love the character, and you cry when he dies. I'm just saying, the Cervante's style its something unique in our languaje. And Personally 1984 it's one of my favourite ones. It's a little bit hard to read in the first chapter, but then, it is all emotions!. I just falled in love with Julia, and screamed on pain internally when Winston says the rats thing. Now i want to read it in the original languaje (because the first time i ever read 1984 was on spanish. Just my opinion, oh, and sorry for my bad english

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads This is the reason I, at least, only added books written in my native language.

Alexis Estrada It is ok to read translated books, but only when the good thing of the book is the story. When it uses a beautifull languaje like poetry or that kind of stuff, it is better to read your own languaje C:
