We know of those books that have been released after Hunger Games to capitalise on its success. But where the author fails to understand the concept of dystopia.

The Standard here is NOT Hunger Games (Although, it is a true dystopia). The standard is much higher. It is '1984'.
Anyone who has actually read 1984 will remember the dread and depression that radiated from it.

The RULE is simple. If a so called dystopia fails to convey that feeling of dread and dpression to the reader then it should be listed here.

If world building is poor and unconvincing or too much attention is given to action/romance instead of individual vs society theme then the book/series probably belongs here.

If it is a series then only include the first book.
