Listopia > Strong Young Adult Female Heroines
In the books I've read, there have been several females that are just plain awesome. They will stand up for themselves and others, and can kick butt! Ahem. So this is the list for them. Smiley face.
No need to vote for all the books in a series, just the first one will do.

Breaking Dawn really, really shouldn't be on this list. Like...really.

Someone should delete those, it completely ruins the list. I LOVE strong heroines! I guess you do, don't you? :)

Matt wrote: "How is Hermione not higher on the list!?"How is she a storg heroine? she;s pretty nerdy and that's all. she is smart, but what else is there?

LOL don't get me wrong, I loved her ;)
Danna wrote: "Vampire Academy?! Twilight series?! STRONG HEROINE?? Where?!"Rose in Vampire Academy is definitely a strong heroine! A better question would be why the Need series is on here... Zara is one of the worst heroines I have ever read about.

How is she not a strong heroine?
She taught kids it's okay to be yourself even if the "cool" kids tease you. She taught the importance of knowledge, logic and research of a task before taking it up. She taught the value of friendship and courage. She taught that romance is not the only thing in life, that even if your love leaves you, it is okay to sit and cry, and then MOVE ON.
She was the girl who could display incredible logic even at times of danger at age 11. She solved the mystery of the chamber of secrets at age 12. She became a master detective (Rita Skeeter) and a passionate activist (house elves) at age 14. She formed a secret rebel society to defy her dictating government at age 15. She was a target of genocide and was tortured, but while others could go insane, she had the strength to make up a story to protect herself and friends. All at the age of 17.
And yet, she has her flaws. Bossiness, know-it-all-ness, pride in her cleverness, jealousy when someone beats her, narrow-mindedness, sometimes the refusal of seeing other people's views... But all this simply makes her human, and more relatable.
So tell me, how is she not a strong heroine?
Sincerely, an over-passionate Hermione fan :D :D :D :D
