Lorraine This list is ridiculous, unnecessary and hurtful to all the authors who have put their time, effort and quite possibly their life and hearts into these books.
I would like to ask Noorilhuda, the creator of this list, 2 questions...

The 'tagline' for this list is "When the story is something else and the cover (good, bad, funny, ugly) suggests something else" (which in itself doesn't actually make sense)

My first question is have you actually read every book on this list to be able to say that the cover is in conflict with the story?

and secondly ~
How would you feel if your books were added to this list?

Elizabeth Horton-Newton I'm really surprised the original cover of my first book didn't make this list. It was awful View From the Sixth Floor An Oswald Tale by Elizabeth Horton-Newton The new cover is awesome though thanks to Rachel Bostwick. Totally agree with you Rainne. This is totally uncalled for. I doubt they read any of the book let alone make book covers.

Sharon Miller This is disgusting. Goodreads should be above this kind of troll-ish behavior. There are much better ways to help authors evaluate their book covers. Whatever happened to constructive criticism?

Chrissy Moon I concur with the others.

It is one thing to say you didn't like a book or its cover, because that's every person's right. That's normal and happens all the time; in fact, we authors should expect it. This list, however, is flat-out mean and borders on bullying.

Are we 5th graders? Do we get our kicks out of making others feel terrible?

Goodreads should be dedicated to the enjoyment of books. It should promote a positive environment for everyone.

One of my friends is an author on this list. It may interest you to know she has been through a lot in her life, including kicking cancer's butt. She is always working and has a heart of gold, and then she comes online to see mean-spirited lists like these.

I truly hope this list has not darkened her spirits or discouraged her from producing yet more work, and I wish the same for the rest of these unfortunate authors as well.

Sharon Miller It's a shame there is no "credit" given the the troll behind this list. I see that the three voters are given credit. I would be ashamed if I had created the list and if I had voted in it.

Sharon Miller Oops--I see Noorilhuda is the troll. I missed it earlier.
