Just keep voting for books as you read them. Which book will we read the most this year? And for all you lucky people who read more than 100 books in a year, this should become your 100 favourite reads of 2016 list. Delete your least fave's as you go past 100.
FYI: This is the 7th year I've put this list together. Last year’s list generated over 9,000 books with 2,000 plus voters. The top 5 reads for 2015 were #1 The Girl on the Train, #2 The Fault in Our Stars, #3 Gone Girl, #4 We Were Liars, and Eleanor & Park at #5.
Cheers everyone!

I feel like we never have new books enter the top 10 this late in the year. It's nice to see.

I can't believe we have another new book in the top 10. I'm loving the list this year.

Thanks Penny! Sadly the real world has been keeping me busy but I'm going to try and be more active here. I miss everyone.

Happy new year everyone! Thanks Buggy for the list!I'm looking forward to getting back into reading. I've been on maternity leave for the last three months and haven't read anything since the week before my daughter was born in October :P I go back to work on Thursday and will be able to start reading again on my breaks ;)

Congrats on the new baby Megan! Yeah Babies and life sure can get in the way of our reading
Thank you! It's been crazy, but I'm excited to get my challenge rolling :) I didn't even come close to 100 last year. This year I'm being a bit more realistic with 50 ;)
I'm pretty certaint hat "Life Mastery" is spam. TWELVE (12) people in total have rated the novel, and it still have 7 votes on this list... and most of those who have voted are new members with only 4-10 books in total on Goodreads and have all voted for only Life Mastery on a lot of other lists...My spam radar is tingling.

Is there a way to report books on these lists as spam? I don't see a way to do it and I can see at least one spam book, myself.
I don't think there is Kat. There is always one book every year that gets spammed to the top of the list. It's a shame that some people can't just play fair.
Shannon wrote: "I don't think there is Kat. There is always one book every year that gets spammed to the top of the list. And if not strong enough, then not readable. What a waste of their time too...
I went through the entire list looking for a Kiera Cass novel and noticed that some novels by Cassandra Clare are listed multiple times. Is there some way to add them together?
Sara wrote: "I went through the entire list looking for a Kiera Cass novel and noticed that some novels by Cassandra Clare are listed multiple times. Is there some way to add them together?"Hey Sara I removed the duplicates so all the different editions should be combined now
The fact that 'Me Before You' is topping this list is horrifying. It looks like Goodreads is fulll of eugenishits this year.
Aubrey wrote: "The fact that 'Me Before You' is topping this list is horrifying. How is that even remotely romantic? "I'd rather die than be disabled!" Really??
I went through the first 3000 books on this list. Than I added based on the reminder of my 2016 books read. I hope I didn't put a book on twice. Please let me know if I shouldn't do that.
ChrisP wrote: "I went through the first 3000 books on this list. Than I added based on the reminder of my 2016 books read. I hope I didn't put a book on twice. Please let me know if I shouldn't do that."Some of us occasionally go through and merge any duplicates. You should be fine.
Is it OK to remove books that are clearly spam (#93, The Show) or does the list administrator do that?
Kylie wrote: "Is it OK to remove books that are clearly spam (#93, The Show) or does the list administrator do that?"Are you absolutely sure it's spam?As a fellow librarian, I'd normally say go ahead. I too clean up lists from time to time, as there is no list administrator to do this, as far as I know. But as to cleaning up this list... The description says 'What we've read so far in 2016', so who's to know if something is spam or not? Although I must say, in this case, when 11 people only vote for one single book, I tend to agree with you :-)

Same here, although this book does appear to have legit reviews on it (I think I saw 30?) and it was only published this year, so they are all technically within the read period. I'm not going to dig too far because I don't care enough (lol) but while maybe the author encouraged people to vote for this on Listopia lists, I don't think it's a spam vote as the people *did* read it this year.
I'm normally all for removing spam because it skews the results. But I think in this case it may just be legit.
Megan wrote: "I'm normally all for removing spam because it skews the results. But I think in this case it may just be legit. ..."I know, there is no way of telling whether the votes are legit or not. Gosh, I do so hate circle voting....
Funny how old books sometimes surface. ”And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie is now #62. No Agatha Christie in top 100 in 2014 or 2015.
J_BlueFlower wrote: "Funny how old books sometimes surface. ”And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie is now #62. What a year huh. Filmatizations (oh, I loved that coined word) seemed to figure a lot in the tally system (why can't we call it a tally rather than a vote???). Being in New Zealand we are often behind in the film-seeing world and I watched my list (2016 books read by women born in the 1970s) get swamped in it as 'The Girl on the Train' re-headed to number 1 and 'Me Before You' swept back in to number 3. At first I didn't understand, figuring that most of us on the list had read the titles already, but then 'oh, I see, it's been turned into a film' as the films arrived in NZ. I never understand watching a movie then reading the book. Fastest way to disappointment really. The author gets blamed for not being the same as the movie often, when realistically the story arc of a movie has to be set differently than the story arc of a novel. Similar but different. OK I'm going to shut up now, I could go on about this for DAYS if not WEEKS and we've only a couple of days left for this year.
Looking forward to next year's list Buggy, hope you're going to run it!
