"The characters were real and the ending wasn't typical. Hardly anything about this novel was typical and even if Scarlett was horrible I couldn't put it down

"Othello has to be the only Shakespeare I full enjoyed. It deals in real human emotion. Jealousy, spite, love, racism, loyalty, and naivety. The motivations of the characters are believable and sometimes even understandable even when it comes to Iago. "

"I voted for this because it is the cleverest version of Hamlet I have read. I liked this more than I liked Hamlet. It contains all the same elements, but it has dogs in it. "

"This was a beautifully written story focusing on the families of the men who went to war. People mostly focus on the war itself so this novel was refreshing."

"Kaplan does a wonderful job of taking the reader to the Balkans. He doesn't just talk about history, he introduces the reader to families and adds interesting tidbits of information throughout."

"This story follows a young women during the beginning of the revolution. It is an interesting perspective and when mixed with the propriety that well bred women were supposed to follow it also as great character development to Jane."

"This story is wonderful at build up, mystery, and a horrifying ending. It makes a good point that just because something has been tradition for a long time, it doesn't make it right."
