4.05 avg rating — 25,036 ratings

"One of the punniest books I've ever read! What do you call someone from the world of Klah, a Klad of course. What do you call someone from the planet Deev, a Deevil of course! It goes on and on and on and on! I would read three epic fantasies or horror and one funny book to balance and these were at the top of the list."

"It was an interesting take on the beginnings of Shannara."

4.15 avg rating — 3,318 ratings

"I loved the Magic Kingdom books, highly recommend for any one who loves mirth, snark and a lot of fantasy! Should have been the beginning of Shannara instead of the Word and Void series, made more sense at the time!!"

3.99 avg rating — 29,877 ratings

"These were very dark books that were set in the times they were written. I loved Terry Brooks back then, but these weren't my favorites, but good books. I did not like that he uesd these to start Shannara instead of the Magic Kingdom books. These are based on Arthurian legends that kind of ring true, but not quite. It did explain the Druid Allanon's staff in the Sword of Shannara though."
