"I voted for Outback Odyssey because I think it genuinely belongs on Historical fiction: Australia. What makes it historical fiction for me isn’t simply that it takes place in the past. The story explores post-war migration, life in the Australian outback, the attitudes and prejudices of the period, the relationship between settlers and First Nations people, and the way the land itself shapes those who live on it."
