"Let's see... Wrongfully accused and imprisoned,he is trained to read, write, think and fight while imprisoned. Upon his daring escape he finds treasure and is re-introduced to society as a mysterious, powerful and wealthy nobleman. That's when the fun begins!

In his new position he sets out to exact his revenge on those who allowed this to happen, whilst attempting to find a long lost love from his past! EXCELLENT"

"Really??? How can you question Leroux, Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber and (nevermind, I can't say it... Emmy Rossum, ok, BUT Gerard Butler. REALLY?)
But please, Read the book. Watch the Broadway show. Heck, watch one of 15 versions of it on broadcast TV. The half masked man falls for Christine - who he believes is his ingenue, student and eventually his bride. He also feels as the Phantom of the Opera that it is his role to immediately assign the leading part to Christine (whom believes is the angel of her deceased father.) Get past the kidnapping, betrayal, extortion and you have Beauty who doesn't get the Beast. "
