"I have a slight disagreement with this list. Now Clara is most certainly not a action-heroine but I still believe she is strong. She pretty does what she wants through the book never allowing her husband to fully own her. *Spoiler * When Esteban, her husband, slaps her in anger, she tells him she will never speak another word to him ever again - and she does so. She does have power over Esteban which he does not want to admit. "
