Wanda Oh. I love these prints. I had similar ones in my kitchen in PA. I had them drawn and painted on the wooden cabinet doors - very pretty it was.

Hello Miss Wanda! I bet that was pretty.

Wanda Hello Hayes! It was! The kitchen was white and green with those old-fashioned oversized cupboards/cabinets. The artwork was completed by a local artist who just wanted the experience and the ability to show off his talent. I think about those cabinets and hope the new owner appreciates them as I did and has not painted over them.

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) I hope so, too -- you must have been sorry not to be able to take those cabinets with you!

Wanda Sorry indeed! Even more sorry to have no pics other than mental ones. Ours was a very old house with hardwood floors, leaded glass in the sidelights of the front door, etc. It was a greedy thing too - once one project was completed, it wanted something more. Fun.

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) It sounds beautiful -- a really classy and comfortable home. What year was it originally built, do you happen to know/remember?

Wanda I do * 1908. I love old houses. Growing up, we lived in an old townhouse - 3 floors (and a basement) straight up with an enormous back patio and backyard. The third floor had a secret room running the entire back length of the room. Fun for hide-and-seek. The basement had an enormous coal room which Mom used as storage for her canning supply.

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) 1908 -- oh, wow, that sounds like a dream of a house (though probably a nightmare to keep up as well!). I love old houses, too; before I moved to the U.S., I lived in a beautifully restored apartment in a turn of the century building in Berlin (similar to New York's brownstones). There seem to be so many nooks and crannies in these buildings that modern houses have done away with -- what a pity! Though I would NOT have wanted to be the one shoveling and carrying coals in them ...
