Damian Dubois Nice to see the Shadow of the Wind in this list, Lee :)

So far my top 4 contains no conventional fantasy books which is not how I pictured it to be at the beginning of the year.

Juniper I haven't read Dresden - but people everywhere seem to love them. I should check them out...

Lee You should Kat. They start off pretty ordinary, but then develop into a wonderful story. It is great seeing the author become great at his craft as the story progresses.

Juniper That must be wonderful! To follow an author's progression. I think it shows more in series than stand-alones.
