" Maya Angelou had to endure change and a huge traumatic event, all before ending childhood. After the sad accounts some stories we can relate to, provide comedy relief, yet also mock reality, in that life does go on. She found herself by the next book...."

Say You're One of Them
by
"This book exploits the suffering in the continent of the Motherland, uncovering fresh wounds. It breaks open ethnic leansing, neglect, poverty and the disfunctionalities which can plague the lives of the Youth of Africa. So many people in America think they need help, this book, takes a look at suffering that is both superficial and lasting. Sometimes, reading tragedy helps us to realize we still have a hold and a way to gain footing and veer toward a desired destiny."

Hear Me Roar
by
"This book has a colorful collection of poetry, some dark, some hopeful. The author aims to highlight good and bad, lyrically documenting becoming a woman, mother, victim, mother again, victim, and finally a patient to her own healing. Check this out for a quit shot of word power"

Sundays at Tiffany's
by
"This book challenges your adult persona, and reminds you of who you were as a child. Some of the traits within the person we were, are things that we developed to evolve, or learned to suppress; as we matured. To be reminded of what you "used to believe," to remember your world through the eyes of you "the child" is refreshing and therapeutic. At times, you may laugh, but sometimes you will turn around and sternly say, "I will no longer be afraid!" I think this book is about facing your fears, and finding out what's keeping you from actualizing. "
