"Does it really only take one book to fall in love with reading? In that case I think that for many of us the love of reading was formed so early that we might not be able to name the book that started it all. I voted for this book because I remember how many times as a child I would read about the party in the tree and try to picture myself there, at the party. It was the first book that linked my imagination to its contents and transported me into its pages. Isn't that the goal?"

Lynne Go, Dog, go was the first book that I read by myself, but it was Little House in the Prairie that fired my imagination.

Sumi I probably read Little House on the Prairie later than you did. I think I was either fourth or fifth grade when I found it at a neighbor's house. By then I was already interested in fiction about the westward movement.
