The Eye of Spirit: An Integral Vision for a World Gone Slightly Mad
by
"The chapter on literary theory has become legendary and is still a great text. Although speaking of art if general terms with no or few examples of actual artworks, there are some inspirational thoughts here; particularly if you are interested in metaphysical aspects of art appreciation."

The Book I Wish I'd Had at Art College
by
"A simple little book at first glance, and it initially covers some obvious points which you may have come across before, but as the book builds up it gets increasingly interesting. With real clarity it demystifies and offers up a practical approach to appreciating art which allows for a bigger picture, rather than a fragmented one. The final chapter on Beauty is truly inspiring. A good primer for anyone interested in art."

The Condition of Postmodernity: An Enquiry into the Origins of Cultural Change
by
"The most accessible and no nonsense book on post-modernity I have come across anywhere. Where many post-modernist thinkers tend to want to make a case for a post-modern notion of free flow in their writing style, and thus rarely commits to reaching clear conclusions, Harvey is much more to the point. This doesn’t make the subject easy as such, but still makes it much clearer. "
