"I'm pretty sure that Marion Zimmer Bradley's The Mist's of Avalon is a direct response to this book. Personally, I think Sword At Sunset was a better book. So even though it is from a traditional male point of view, it was impeccably well researched and probably the most historically accurate of any Arthurian Fiction. And yes, it is a better read than Mists. So its kind of a travesty that Sword at Sunset made #40 on this list while Mists of Avalon made #1 with 114 votes. "
