Sandy, I tried to read The Historian but couldn't get into it - maybe I should've tried a little harder...

The pace of the book was just so deadly - in the first 20 pages she described every detail of every scene and it just bored me to tears. I'm probably in the minority though since so many people loved this book.

I loved it! One of the most suspenseful books I've ever read plus the setting of the story in frigid Denmark and Greenland made for a great atmosphere. The Eight one of my all time faves that should keep you turning the pages.
