"The main female character Bella was not just dumb but cruel! I read the book and was shocked to continue to see that her love interest Edward was constantly stalking her because he felt she was unable to take care of herself which she didnt help him not feel that way but i have to draw the line when i find out that he was watching her sleep YES IN HER ROOM!! from before he even introduced himself to her! Then when she finds out instead of barring up the house and calling the police she seems to think its romantic!

But the thing that made me stop reading immediately and want to throw the book against a wall was her cruelty. It was emphasized that her father was still in love with her mother and was never going to move on from it so in an act of what i suppose was supposed to be seen as her protecting her father she decided to leave the house in a hurry because of the impending blah blah blah and when her father (being a concerned parent trying to take care of his daughter) tried pushing her to tell him why she was so frantic she decided to say word for word the last thing her mother ever said to him when she walked out on their marriage. he stops in total heart break and lets her leave....i still to this day cant understand the heartlessness of being able to do something like that. you know the knife is there and instead of trying to say something else that may give him some peace or at least willingness to let her go you have to instead shove the knife in deeper further destroying a man who just wanted to take care of you.

"If i had gotten a tiger / man to fall in love with me that was as amazing and beautiful as he was said to be i think my self-esteem would have gotten a bit of a boost. But not this chick! She is constantly belittling herself and they are constantly getting into fights and then she falls into some dangerous situation and he saves her and all is forgiven and their love is stronger. This book does nothing but show women as weak, simple minded, and emotional. They should have just thrown her a jar of rocky road ice cream or ben and jerrys and told her to calm down. i actually managed to finish this series unlike with twilight which is the only reason why its on number 2 but as the series went on the love triangle grew and her helpless emotional state just got worse.

this series just teaches girls that men like women they can save and not that women can live a life without needing to be saved. "
