It's time travel back to the days before commerce and industry polluted the planet, yet the main characters, Asa and Rila, are torn between the desires for the purity of the past and for monetary wealth. I liked that there was no "time machine," but rather an alien, who they named "Catface", who created time roads to various times in the past. And there are dinosaurs that create both wonder and terror—in a novel that was published a dozen years before Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. And also urban riots, shallow politicians, big-game hunters, enterprising developers, clever lawyers, opposing religious groups, et al. to muddy the past and present. Recommended.ime-travel novel.
