"The writer uses lots of literary techniques, but they are embedded within an interesting (and perhaps somewhat true?) work of fiction. The writer conceals and reveals much like the clandestine operative protagonist. Is she Israeli, American, or Persian? Too many thought provoking themes to list: mixed marriage, domestic violence, the morality of clandestine work, PTSD, culture clash, immigrant challenges, loyalty, love that transforms the darkness within a rogue..."
