"An exploration of the world through someone else's eyes is always an enriching experience. Richard Wright is able to convey the feelings, hopes and fears of a kid whose world has only offered him hate and superstition. His transition from the south to the north was no Eden and he also learned that people who "supported" him were actually more racists than the KKK members in the south from where he had run away."
