"I LOVED this book. The characters are complex and the book made me so proud of being a woman. Three such different main characters - but all relatable in some way."

"This author is the most unique that I've read. I've never tried hallucinogenics but I'm guessing reading a Murakami book is similar. I fall into a different world and think about what I read the rest of the day. His work is mesmerizing. "

"I love that this book truly depicts the effect a parent's decision has on their children. The family moves to Africa and the three daughters react in such different ways. It felt realistic. Made me want to go to Africa and hope that people stop trying to want to change other cultures that are not at war. Not everyone needs a Wal-Mart or T-shirts. "
