The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1)
by
"Not exactly the easiest thing to explain - but this is a reality that I would love to traipse across, hitchhiking and crossing surreal boundaries.

Oh and would always remember where my towel is of course!" See Review |

The Lord of the Rings
by
"Simply because of the rich world that it creates and the heart and freedom of it all, a place that I would want to explore for as long as I draw breath."

Stardust
by
"I tossed between this, American Gods (love the idea of the gods like that) and Neverwhere which actually got bumped off this list.

Not my favourite Gaiman book I'll admit in terms of the core story, but the world he creates here, the details, its enough to make me get a permanent grin stuck to my face thinking about how much fun it would be to explore! Love the chaos, the ideas and concepts that make up the world beyond that strange old Wall. " See Review |

I've always been fascinated by the ideals and life of the knights of Camelot and this version is the one I would most love to partake in given the chance. " See Review |

Cities in Flight (Cities in Flight, #1-4)
by
"Truly one of the greatest science fiction tales I have ever read in my life - to travel across the stars and live in a city in flight (specifically the one at the centre of the book) and all that their travels show and entail... what a journey to be able to make and interesting characters to be able to interact with. Dune (Dune, #1)
by
"I could talk about the richly filled Universe filled with opportunity and concepts I could learn like the mentats, swordmasters of Ginaz, prana-bindu teachings and any number of other things but in truth this book despite being arguably my favourite would not be the greatest to live in - and the single biggest reason to be in it?

American Gods: Tenth Anniversary (American Gods, #1)
by
"Almost did not make it to this list courtesy Gaiman's other books but in terms of a world that would be worth exploring this beats out Neverwhere and others by this amazing writer.

To be able to walk a world and see the essences of the gods themselves, to learn from that, understand that and share in the experience of it all. Good or bad, this would be something worth living through!" See Review |

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)
by
"Like Tolkien's Middle Earth, this is another fantasy world that has so much going on in it that would be amazing to watch and from which to partake. "

Transmetropolitan, Vol. 1: Back on the Street
by
"I would say simply read my review of this book - one of the most interesting future's ever created, the technology and freedom and ability to f*** around alone makes this a world worth visiting!"

Inkheart (Inkworld, #1)
by
"This book was a dodgy selection, meaning that there were many books that could have come here and this was not even the top of that list - but its the concept, the merging of fiction and reality and the simple pleasure of reading this book and its characters... gives it a spot on this list for me.
