Bettie Oh lummy! For all that I have read, I don't think I would wish to live in anything I have come across so far. There is always a major drawback in fact and fictional accounts.

Armana appeals but the toothache OUCH!
Hobbit holes are inviting but a pestering by some upstart and insistent wizard is just too much.

Clearly - I will have to give this much thought.

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) My feelings exactly!!

Themis - you are a rocking good lady.

message 4: by Lobstergirl (new)

Lobstergirl I can't believe no one has voted for The Road.

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) Hehe, good one, yes. And why am I not surprised Harry's snatched the top spot yet again?

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads At least it's not Twilight.

Holly HOUSE OF NIGHT!!!!!!

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) Plenty -- was getting to that now! :)

message 15: by Elena (last edited May 08, 2010 10:15PM) (new)

Elena I find it hilarious that The Hunger Games is on this list. Lots of bloodthirsty and/or suicidal people around here, eh?

message 16: by Adam (new)

Adam Seriously!!! I would NOT want to live in Panem!!!
How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalester should definetly be on the top, but its not that popular.

message 17: by Jesse (new)

Jesse James How the hell did The Hunger Games even get on that list! I point my middle finger up at who ever likes that book! Kiss my jesse james ass if you think I'm joking about that fuckin' book! All they do in that book is have sex, sex, and more sex! My recomendations on reading that is DO NOT READ THE HUNGER GAMES! Oh my frick it is time for me to start fucking my lady who is waiting for me in bed!

message 18: by Selena (new)

Selena Pigoni Why does Twilight rank so high on the list? I wouldn't want to live in a world of blood-thirsty vampires where there are only a half-dozen clans that are... "vegetarian" I believe is the word they used to describe it.

message 19: by Cora (new)

Cora To meet Edward,I suppose!

Breigh GAH can't chose just one... or two or three.
Harry Potter and the Lightening Thief for sure! If only there WERE wizards who could fly around on brooms.....

message 25: by Myra (new)

Myra wish i was friends with luna lovegood! <3

message 26: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Why would you want to live in the hunger games??!?

message 27: by ɐzzıɹʞ (new)

ɐzzıɹʞ what if you discovered you are a wizard/witch and a demigod then you became a vampire because Carlisle bit you...what would you do? You're powerful and all. What would you do to?

message 28: by Lalabelleza (new)

Lalabelleza Emma wrote: "I can't chose between Percy Jackson and Harry Potter.... Aaah I have a solution! Hogwarts during the school year and Camp Half-Blood in the summer!"

that's exactly what i was thinking! :)

message 31: by Cora (last edited Sep 04, 2010 03:05PM) (new)

Cora I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You
,Because I guess I'd fun to learn 14 languages, wouldn't it?!

message 32: by Jan (new)

Jan Some of the books on this list totally baffle me. I don't think people calculate in their actual survival chances...

I think the idea should be if it's a world where you'd still want to live in if you were the same you as you are now - that is, without any powers or special attributes. Once it passes that test, cross your fingers you WILL be something awesome.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Ctiy of bones would be my choice as you get a bit of everything in it,yeah it has its downsides but every world does!

message 34: by Minglis (new)

Minglis kushiel's legacy is the correct answer.

message 35: by Florencia (new)

Florencia Nicolle wrote: "Why would you want to live in the hunger games??!?"

I think the same, but i´d live there to meet Peeta and Gale :P

message 36: by Marcelle (new)

Marcelle Cole I would choose The Wizard of Oz, I read several in this series when I was 8-9 and still have them on my shelf.

message 37: by *Kashi* (new)

*Kashi* I'll have to think about this. So many Great books, but I don't feel like living in much of them. Maybe I'll choose the ones I liked as a Child.
Nice List!

message 38: by George (new)

George vote for lord of the rings

message 39: by Joanna (new)

Joanna Wood Jillian -always aspiring- wrote: "Harry Potter FTW!

Who wouldn't want to be a witch or wizard in Harry's world -- especially post-Voldemort? ;)

I agree on both! :D

message 40: by Nisma (new)

Nisma HARRY POTTER
agreed.
And as much as I love The Hunger Games book,
I also agree that it's not exactly the most dream-home sort of place o.O

message 41: by Yarahmadi (new)

Yarahmadi My friend Harry we are able to make movie, and show this movie to the world dragon be DEFEATxxx not only movie reality.*** work with me for this future for our GENERATION to COME ONE VICTORY for your QUEEN and the WORLD *******>>>>>>>

message 42: by Donna (new)

Donna Oh my Goodness!! Where is Poison Study????

Otherwise it's a good list :-)

message 43: by Donna (new)

Donna Also I would only want to live in the City of bones if I was a Shadowhunter!!(or friends of theirs) ha ha otherwise it would be kind of dull :P

message 44: by Kerri (new)

Kerri People need to remember that the book they like might not necessarily have a cozy place to live in.

message 45: by Akshay (new)

Akshay Loved this list!

Really made me think about an aspect of the books I love that rarely gets considered.

Thanks! :)

oh and don't forget the hand-to-hand combat training, and hacking skills

message 47: by Nisma (new)

Nisma You know what book should be here? Inkheart. Even if you don't like the actual story, you still have a guarantee of getting into every other book you want to when you get in it.... if that makes sense ^^

Akshay Laila wrote: "You know what book should be here? Inkheart. Even if you don't like the actual story, you still have a guarantee of getting into every other book you want to when you get in it.... if that makes se..."

Kind of does actually, that is more or less why its on my list here :) just the concept of what it means and what it could become are spectacular and for a book lover its a dream come true.

message 49: by Nisma (new)

Nisma Oh, I didn't realise it was on the list - I thought if it WAS, it would be on the first page... My bad :) But now it's got one more vote.

message 50: by Akshay (new)

Akshay at least a couple of the names I put up were not on this list to start with - you shouldnt limit your choices.
