Lunasea The Historian is one of that books I've been meaning to read, but they're so darned dense.

What didn't you like about it?

OMG--what DID I like about it? Not much. Okay, my main complaint was that at times we had the main character relating a story told to her by her father, that was told to him by his professor, that was told to the professor by...well,you get the picture. And whoever we ended up with was telling the story in the first person. And this happened over and over again, so I never had any idea who the heck was speaking in the first person or who it was who was having any particular adventure at any particular time. Nor did I care, quite frankly. LOL! I found the whole thing deadly dull. OTOH, my friend enjoyed it immensely, but she reads a lot of European history. For fun.

;o)
