Oh, and there's a time-traveling elevator in A Year Without Autumn!I'll do a deeper dive for more tomorrow. :)
Added!Boy, the search function in the voting and the 'add book/author' fields is wacky.
"A Year Without Autumn Liz Kessler" brings up:
A Year without Autumn by Liz Kessler
A Year without Autumn by Liz Kessler (1-Sep-2011) Paperback
Liz Kessler'sA Year Without Autumn Hardcover 2011
While "A Year Without Autumn" gives you the one you want:
A Year Without Autumn
I'd be fine with this if it was consistent, I guess. But you can't always find your book by title alone, because it doesn't seem to prioritize the sequence of words so much as .... well, I dunno, IS it popularity? Or some hidden subtext I can't see?!
Anyway... putting the grrrr in GR. XD
The Amazon catalog bot causing mayhem! It's not based on popularity. I believe it's triggered by having the title and author together in the title line. Because of course the author's name shouldn't be in the doggone title, lol.
I think I fixed all the Autumns. If you see any other authors whose results are messed up like that, you can always let me know. :)
Thanks! Yeah, no, I understand how author and title isn't together usually. But there's no weighting for word sequence, I don't think! So even if I type in the four word title correctly, but SOME of those words (not all!) appear in a different order in another title, that book will come up as well. That's really problematic for searching by title! I don't know the exact terminology of what I'm trying to say, and I'm really trying NOT to learn Python (I have friends and family members covering that already, ha ha! Eeew, coding!), but what the actual...In short, I find the search here totally bizarre and irrational. XD
Alright, I just spent a few minutes trying to come up with an example, and totally failed. ;) It seems to be working perfectly at the moment.Often, though, if I am searching for book "A Book Called Dave" by "End Fail", and I enter "A Book Called Dave", the stupid search results churn out " Maybe A Book God" and " A Caller Dave Queried" and "Dave Calls Every AM" before I see my "A Book Called Dave" book title, if indeed I EVER do. And many times, it doesn't come up.
THEN what happens is that I am forced to enter "A Book Called Dave End Fail" and I get those misfiled titles-with-authors hits that I showed above. But not ALWAYS, which is really mind-warping, because if it's a well known book, then that will give me the exact hit...
The next time it happens, I'll try and document it. It might be that something important is offline - I am using GR whe N America is still asleep, after all. ;)
Could be! I can easily see GR getting even wonkier "after hours."More elevators!

I hope that guy's memories are sound!!! XD Because it IS odd that this very overlapping work hasn't been cited by Lewis scholars and super-fans... :S
Still, this came up, and no one had heard of it, so... perhaps it's still out there. ;)

How about elevators that stop at magical floors?
