Scarletphoenix Hermione FTW!

message 2: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I've only read three of the books listed but I still think Hermione would win. She's intelligent and an amazing spell caster.

Cristie of Crops and Craps and Things Long Since Past All dislike for the girl aside, I'm surprised some people actually picked an army of Bellas. She is a less than average girl who doesn't even have the will to live... How can you make it through a battle when you actually want someone to take all the blood right out of you? You'd have to have some neurological problems to want a full battalion of useless suicidal girls "fighting" by your side.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

To me, the answer seems clear based on her gift: Katsa. She literally cannot lose. She may not be my favourite heroine listed, but she has by far the most useful powers in a fight. The others are certainly formidable, but it seems to me that Katsa has the will, intelligence, and abilities to win.

Exactly my feelings...

message 6: by Adam (new)

Adam Ellie really should have gotten higher on this list, she was basically born as a warrior and has fiery swords and is basically immortal. If she can take down a demon army, I'm more than sure she would win a fight consisting mostly of mortals.

Yes I completely agree :)
Lol an army of Bellas? xD

e. caradonna friedberg LISBETH SALANDER FTW

message 9: by Anna (new)

Anna Millard I feel like Hermione would win IF she really tried, but I also think her morality would get in the way of killing so many people. So I'm gonna go with Celaena.

Alex Anna wrote: "I feel like Hermione would win IF she really tried, but I also think her morality would get in the way of killing so many people. So I'm gonna go with Celaena."

A fight doesn't necessarily mean that the opposition has to die so that's why I went with Hermione. :P

message 11: by CJ (new)

CJ I think Katsa and Calaena would be on equal grounds. They're both really skilled, but I think Katsa's grace would help her win.

message 12: by Zoe (new)

Zoe Yeah, Katsa and Celaena would definitely be pretty close.

message 13: by Becky (new)

Becky I've only read 3 of the books on the list so for me it was a toss up between Katniss and Tris however if it was a hands on fist fight then I think Tris would win from her sheer strength as katniss relies quite heavily on having a bow or some kind of weapon.

(P.s. Why does Bella get an army and everyone else just gets themselves?)

message 14: by Sydney (last edited Nov 15, 2014 03:53PM) (new)

Sydney Chapters Either Katsa and Celaena, BUT Katsa would clearly win because of her Grace (like come on, she can fight for a day straight before she gets tired). Hermione is my favorite, but it's pretty obvious, and I don't think she has the heart to fight to kill unless someone else she loves is in danger.

message 15: by WinterRose (new)

WinterRose Hermione. Not even a contest.

message 16: by Jomy (new)

Jomy Alarcon I can't pick between Katsa and Celaena.

message 17: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ Katsa is both mentally and physically strong. ;)

message 18: by Maryum (new)

Maryum ❤ I CANNOT choose! I have read all of these books because I'm such a fan of all of them. but I think that Katsa might win because she can kill someone by just touching them. And some heroines from the heroes of olympus should be here

message 19: by Cassandra (last edited Jun 10, 2015 10:12PM) (new)

Cassandra 1. Celæna Sardothien
2. Alanna of Trebond and Olau

Well I think that this would be without magic. So a choice of Celæna, Alanna, or Katniss. Or maybe Keladry. Actually, Katniss would only stand a chance if you could use archery and be sitting at a distance away. I reckon Celaena would just win. She is a superb assassin, after all. But Alanna, a superb knight and king's champion, would be very close, and Katsa's Grace would help... nah still Celaena. She is a fantastic assassin and fey and all.

message 20: by Shruthi (last edited May 23, 2015 09:22AM) (new)

Shruthi Logically Hermione cause she doesn't have to even come close to her opponent to cast a spell. She can also cast a shield.
Annabeth- smart not deadly enough against wand
Alanna- tough one but again magic
Keladry- hmmm, she's good but she can't break through magic shields
An army of Bellas- You've got to be kidding
Tris- She doesn't actually have any advantages in a plain fight...
Katsa- Would come second with her grace and good reactions
Katniss- No real advantages in a plain fight...
I'm assuming you keep your advantages, but Hermione's magic helps with long range and short range so it's fairly obvious...

message 21: by Hailey (new)

Hailey I'm stuck between Annabeth, Tris, and Katniss... I chose Annabeth.

message 22: by Randomhappy15762 (new)

Randomhappy15762 I think it depends on who they are fighting.

Hailey Randomhappy15762 wrote: "I think it depends on who they are fighting."

I think they're fighting each other.

message 24: by Nidhi (new)

Nidhi Bhatt I totally believe its going to be Hermione Granger! Always.... I mean duh... have you seen her cast spells!

Cheshire Cat [Heidi]~ We're All Mad Here ~ So hard to decide between Annabeth and Hermione.

message 26: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra Who is Annabeth? So many people seem to talk of her as a contender - I'm sticking with Celaena then Alanna. But what's Annabeth like?

message 27: by Amy (new)

Amy Delena wrote: "About Bella- Probably because she wouldn't stand a chance against any of these girls, one a demigod, at least two literal lady knights(one of which has magical powers), one a wizard, one a Dauntless, and so on, and the creator probably just wanted to have her on the list. Still, it's stupid. "

Well, personally, I found it funny just seeing that it's an army of Bellas! Plus, I really did not expect to see her in a list with so many more kickass heriones (I wouldn't describe Bella as either). She really does need an army to seem powerful BUT if it's vampire army, I'm pretty sure that would stand a chance physically.

message 28: by Tigress (new)

Tigress Okay, poll creator here--including Bella was a joke. I didn't say it was a good joke, but it was a joke! I also hate Bella, and consider her one of the weakest heroines I've ever had the misfortune to read about. I was going to remove her as an answer, but I just found it really amusing that 23 people voted for her. (And also, about her chances in a fight--even after being turned into a vampire, she's useless by herself, because her power is protecting others. I guess her clones could protect each other, but most of the heroines on this list could definitely find a way around that.)

message 29: by Greta (new)

Greta Hermione. Seriously!

message 30: by Sarena (new)

Sarena Either Hermione or Katsa. Hermione has an entire arsenal of spells at her disposal and would basically be untouchable, but Katsa's grace is survival, so... I'd choose Annabeth as third, because the girl's brilliant and she has an invisibility cap. You can't fight what you can't see.

message 31: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten Magic wins every time, but having a grace of survival might make you immune...

Kirsten Cristie wrote: "All dislike for the girl aside, I'm surprised some people actually picked an army of Bellas. She is a less than average girl who doesn't even have the will to live... How can you make it through a ..."

Umm...maybe, but I will say at the end of the Hunger Games, Katniss is 10 times worse.

message 33: by Jenna (new)

Jenna Owens Love how Bella needs an entire army. Lol.

message 34: by Sarena (new)

Sarena Cassandra wrote: "Who is Annabeth? So many people seem to talk of her as a contender - I'm sticking with Celaena then Alanna. But what's Annabeth like?"

She's a demigod. Athena's her mother, so she's really smart, and although she doesn't have any special powers, she's really good with a dagger and can hold her own in a fight. Also, she has a Yankees baseball cap that turns her invisible.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Hermione could just AVADA KEDAVRA everybody....

message 36: by Laura (new)

Laura Phelon A FIGHT? Katniss! A duel? Hermione, but that's a little unfair to the muggles involved ;-)

message 37: by Lashawn (new)

Lashawn Duh. Hermione would shoot off a stunner so fast!

Marie -The Reading Otter Hermione would totally win, but why do more people think Katniss would win against Celaena? Celaena is a freaking assassin. Sure Katniss has killed people, but she's not a trained killer like Celaena.

message 39: by H (new)

H Ahhh! It is so hard to choose. I love Annabeth, Hermione and Celena!

message 40: by Donna (new)

Donna Hermione. She is a gifted wizard.

message 41: by Prpages (new)

Prpages I think they would all band together against a common enemy and totally kick-ass.

message 42: by Nicole (last edited Jun 10, 2015 09:38PM) (new)

Thanks! I think I'll still say Celaena though.

Ask Draco Malfoy's nose. She can throw a punch with the best of them.

message 45: by Donna (new)

Donna I think the point is they all use whatever powers they have. The wizard wins with magic everytime.

message 46: by Misha (new)

Misha Sam wrote: "To me, the answer seems clear based on her gift: Katsa. She literally cannot lose. She may not be my favourite heroine listed, but she has by far the most useful powers in a fight. The others are c..."
Katsa may have a grace for survival, and that's all very well, but Hermione is the only one capable of offensive magic. In her own world, Hermione wasn't a great fighter, but among people who can't cast shield charms, she'd be pretty hard to beat.

Also, since she'd probably be casting body-bind curses, impediment jinxes, and the like, (no one said it was a fight to the death) she wouldn't trigger Katsa's gift.

message 47: by Chisom (new)

Chisom I'm so happy I've read all but two books on this list! Anyway , overall the best one in a real fight is Katsa without a doubt. I mean come on, she knows exactly what's coming. Even fighting Hermione would be pretty easy. That being said, I think I read the poll wrong and thought it asked who would YOU beat in a fight. I picked Calla because I think she's the most annoying book character I've ever read.

message 48: by Misha (new)

Misha Kirsten wrote: "Magic wins every time, but having a grace of survival might make you immune..."
Not if Hermione's not casting anything deadly, which I bet she wouldn't.

message 49: by Misha (new)

Misha Becky wrote: "Why does Bella get an army?"

Well, because she's just plain human with no fighting skills.

She might have somewhat of a chance once a vampire, especially if you consider her immunity to magic to apply to Hermione and the other magicians in the mix.

message 50: by Cassandra (last edited Jun 10, 2015 10:14PM) (new)

I second that :)

(well, the bit about Celaena. I think Hermione is too conscientious, plus in my opinion magic's cheating when not everyone in this poll can use it or is in a world with magic).
