Someone at Barnes and Noble told me about this group. Read The Pale King last year. Hard as hell but beautiful. And a collection of short stories. Wanted to tackle a novel that's a true Wallace one and not an editor's paste job. A little ahead of schedule but glad to have it. I can relax now and really savor the book. Kinda like a great 6 course meal and not always sure what I'm eating...but loving it!

I tried the e-book, but it didn't really work for me. I think that some books are meant to be read the traditionally way, and IJ is one of them. But the e-book works for some, so to each their own, I guess.
Richard: The Pale King was one of my least favorite DFW works (plus of course bittersweet, since it's the last major one and as you point out not even finished by him). Glad you're enjoying IJ so far! Can't wait to start discussing.

Changed my vote to digital! I'm going to try reading the Kindle version this time around. We'll see how it goes. :)
