Fooppace If it's a crappy whatever series I'm reading just because I started reading it; I'll burn right through them in order. If however it's a series I really like I'll drag it out as long as possible and I will read other books in between.

Misty I almost always read other books in between. :)

message 3: by Ken (new)

Ken It depends. I usually read other books in between, either because subsequent books in the series are still being written, or they aren't available through the library, or because I want a break from the story. The danger is, with my memory, that by the time I get back to the series, I won't remember what has already happened. On the plus side, as my memory continues its downhill slide, one of these day's I'll be able to read all my favorite series again--for the first time!

Carol I love series and I usually go through the various series in order, but read other books in between. Lately though, I have been finding it kind of overwhelming. Think I am going to have to cut the series down a little.

Sandy I generally avoid series. Especially if I can't read them right after another until I am done but even then I often get annoyed with them before I get done reading them all. I like variety I guess. My kids think I am crazy because I read a ton but never even made it all the way through Harry Potter.

~☆~Autumn If its super exciting and I have to know what happens next I go on to the next book but more often I take a break by reading another book.

I had to read all the Twilight books in order after buying the first one on sale in order to do the quiz. Also, when I read Hush, Hush then I had to read another one right away but most series I never even read the second one. Good poll!

Desiree Taggard I prefer series. I like to get emotionally involved. If it is a really long series i might read other books too.

message 8: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn McC Quite often I only read the first book in a series. That way I at least sort of know what people are talking about when they mention Edward & Bella, etc. It also seems like the first book is the best one because the ideas for that one have been percolating with the author for a while, whereas later books sometimes run out of steam as they try to continue the series.
