There is an old classic from 1972 that became a classic movie with Clint Eastwood, George Kennedy and several other good actors. If your old enough to remember it was called the Eigen Sanction.

Takes place around mountain climbing in the Alps. Had a hardcover. But thought it was probably out of print, but there is a kindle version on Amazon, possibly elsewhere. The author is Trevanian that wrote some good Samauri novels
