The winner is Shifty's Boys, by Chris Offutt, the sequel to The Killing Hills, read previously by the group. If you haven't read that one, I strongly encourage you to do so as soon as possible. It's a rough-and-tumble tale of a soldier's return home to Kentucky to sort out family business. Don't miss it.
