Who my favorite author is depends on my mood and how long ago I last read them. Early on I read all of John Steinbeck (or so I thought), then Faulkner, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, and Harper Lee (okay she's only got Mockingbird), John Grisham, Michael Connelly, and JK Rowling--and on it goes. I don't sit still and think no one will ever be as good or as well loved as someone I've already read.

I do not have a favorite author, although there are some who i just happen to love all their books, but for the most part i like a lot of different authors.

I love the quirkiness of John Irving's books and the characters.
No, I do not have a favourite author. Nor do I have several favourite authors. It's much easier for me to choose which individual publications have really left an impact on me, plus it just feels uncomfortable to me to place a single person on a pedestal just like that.
I can narrow it down to three: J.R.R. Tolkien, Anne Elisabeth Stengl, and Brandon Sanderson.

The Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite book but my favorite authors include: The Brontes, Jane Austen, Norah Lofts, Patricia Highsmith, Lianne Moriarty, John Grisham, Charles Dickens, Kurt Vonnegut and more that I can't even name them all.
I voted for Ursula K Le Guin. I've read and love Harry Potter, The Hobbit and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, but like Le Guin better than those authors.
Louisa May Alcott defiantly. I love her books. But I also love C. S. Lewis, Tolkien, Laura Wilder, and so many more!
