I'm only a few chapters in The Kings of the Wyld and I just want to confirm; Do you have a daughter yourself? I'm thinking you must because after having both a son -who is now an adult- and a 11 year old daughter, there is a definitive difference in the relationship between father and his daughter and a father and his son. And you get it.

Hey, Greg!
You know what? I actually don't! I have an adorable niece nowadays (who will undoubtedly bring home a few frogs in her lifetime), but she wasn't born yet when I wrote the book. As to where I may have found inspiration enough to capture the father/daughter dynamic you mention above...I couldn't say for sure. Liam Neeson movies, perhaps? I kid...mostly.
I really am glad to hear from a father who obviously loves his daughter that I managed to capture the essence of that relationship. It means the world to me, truly, because those kinds of bonds--whether I have them or not--are the basis of the book itself, and its greatest hope of affecting people the way I'd hoped it would.
I really am glad I 'got it'. Thank you again for saying so. I sincerely hope you enjoy the rest of the book!

I just finished Bloody Rose which is fantastic and cannot wait for the third "band" book to come out.
While reading I had thought you were hinting at something that would be revealed later, but never did. Perhaps I was just reading too much into it or wishing for a connection. BUT I MUST KNOW. Is Tam's mother and Brune's mother the person? There was mentions of both mothers with similar qualities.

Hey Nick - First of all, love your books. Congratulations on much-deserved success! My question actually has to do with ANOTHER author's books, though - one I've read is your absolute favorite: Guy Gavriel Kay. What's your favorite of his work? I've only read Tigana and was thinking out jumping in for more GGK this year. Thanks!
